About the event
Delaware County Community Foundation (DCCF) is pleased to host its annual Gala Celebration on March 27, 2015 at Springfield Country Club. The Gala is instrumental in ensuring that DCCF can continue fulfilling its mission of encouraging local philanthropy, building lasting legacies, and improving the lives of residents of Delaware County. Funds raised from the 2015 Gala will benefit DCCF's Hope for Children Fund, which serves abused and neglected children in Delaware County.
The 2015 Gala will feature:
- an awards presentation to 2015 Gala Honoree Francis J. Leto, President and CEO of Bryn Mawr Trust
- performances by local youth groups including the Chester Children's Choir
- a live and silent auction
- open bar for the duration of the event, including a cocktail reception before dinner
- three course plated meal
- live music and dancing
Funds raised will benefit DCCF's Hope for Children Fund, which helps abused and neglected children in Delaware County find healing and safety. Through the Hope for Children Fund, DCCF awards grants to area nonprofits that can demonstrate they serve this vulnerable population with effective, high impact, and innovative programs informed by best practice.
Grants from the Hope for Children Fund have:
- Provided at-risk pregnant teens with family counseling and parenting skills, thereby breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect for the next generation
- Supported family therapy and counseling services for hundreds of children recovering from the trauma of sexual abuse
- Trained Delaware County clinicians to provide more effective and sustainable home-based counseling and support services to children and families
- Placed over 200 orphans in Delaware County in safe, nurturing, and loving homes
