About the event
I am turning 18 this year, and as a teenager of this day and age, I wanted to do something huge; instantly the idea of having a carnival came to mind. My heart is in volunteer work. I love the satisfying feeling of helping someone else - nothing in this world feels better to me. So, I thought, why not condense my initial idea to something achievable? After some thought and consideration, I decided I want to have a fun fair, a day of bouncy houses, inflatable games, face painting, eating, music, prizes and good times. The money raised will go back to Southeast's show choir, helping them get to Disney this year, and to the local boys and girls club, a place attempting to help keep the children off the streets and in beneficial activities. It will provide a safe, fun opportunity for kids in the relatively small town of Springfield, IL to have some entertainment, something our town lacks for teenagers, while helping out the community. The local animal shelter has already expressed interest in having an animal booth at the show, so it is slowly coming to fruition, all I need is funding.
