Historians say that the Battle of Vimy Ridge represents the birth of our Canadian nation. Banting SS is so excited to have 70 of its students travel to see the battlefields of World War One as part of our 100th Anniversary Vimy Ridge Tour.
Our students will be joining thousands of students from across Canada in France to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge - the first time all four Canadian divisions fought together in a victory that would ultimately define our nation. We will visit Canadian cemeteries, participate in a candlelight ceremony to honour our fallen soldiers, and play an active role in the Vimy Memorial ceremony.
Why should you sponsor?
For your contribution of $250, your business name will appear on the “Vimy 100th Anniversary” t-shirts worn by trip members during pre-trip activities in London and official ceremonies in Europe, you will receive a framed group picture taken at Vimy to acknowledge your gift and you will be recognized in a special thank-you advertisement that will be placed in the Londoner Newspaper. If you would rather donate $100, your business will be listed on the trip t-shirt and in the weekly Banting school newsletter. We will make a great effort to mention all our sponsors during all media coverage associated with the trip.
Jenna HawrylukHi, my name is Jenna. I'm a student at Banting Secondary in London, Ontario, Canada. I do competitive sports, work part time, and love to travel. I believe it is very important to comemorate the soldiers who faught for our freedom, and gave their lives to improve ours. I cannot wait to travel to France and honour these veterans for the sacrifices they made during the war. In order to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity, I am asking for your financial assistance. I am currently seeking sponsorship and support from individuals and businesses to assist with the financial costs associated with my participation as a member of the Banting History Club.
