1,000 Walks For Charity,

United Kingdom United Kingdom

  • About the event

I will be taking on the challenge to complete 1,000 walks for charity over the next 5 years. The walks will each consist of at least 10,000 steps. Some of the walks could be 4 times this in a day.

I am doing this as my dad had cancer and Ive also been diagnosed with Diabetes recently.

Walking is said to help improve this condition so in addaition to rasing my for Charity I am also looking to help encourage others to walk for health.

As I complete more of the walks I can imagine quite a lot of publicity coming to my website and facebook group.

    Why should you sponsor?

For a business to be recognised as a sponsor for such a worth while casue it would give them credibility and prove that they are a caring business.

As the walks progress there will be quite a bit of media publicity so for a business to get in now it will give them a chance to purchase a space.

    Mark Anthony

Hi, Im Mark Anthony and a few years ago I walked from Riddings to Skegness over 3 days with a couple of friends for Charity.

I did this as my dad had Pancreatic Cancer. He was given 6 months to live, he was however given the chance of an operation which he took and went on to live for 8 years.

I completed the walk at the end of his battle and life with Cancer. It made me very proud that he saw me do this walk. He was over the moon when he heard I was going to do it and was proud of me.

I've been looking at ways I can help others who suffer from the disease since. After being diagnosed with Diabetes I deceided it was time to take up this challenge again to help others. In doing so I will hopefully help my own health and be able to encourage others to take part in these walks to help improve their own health as well.
