About our event

GEAR Racing. (GEAR stands for Girl Empowerment Around Racing.) is the only all woman race team in IMSA. Co-Captained by international champions Katherine Legge and Christina Nielsen, the girls pilot the #19 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship Series.

Katherine and Christina are also the leading faces of The GEAR Project, a national program developed for the empowerment and encouragement of girls through science, technology, engineering, and math as they align in the art of motorsports and racing. We will be touring some of the fastest and focused female drivers and their cars to high schools, public libraries, and other locations where they will speak on the importance of these subjects not only in racing, but in life. These inspirational women are very enthusiastic to help all young women be their fullest.

Partners to GEAR Racing and to the GEAR Project will receive extensive exposure and brand reach through live events, vast media coverage (including a Netflix documentary), tremendous PR, digital and social media. 

The team members are dynamic women with a global fan base from all motorsports arenas. Each GEAR pilot understands the importance of being a brand ambassador and love championing team partners beyond the track.

Partners will also gain additional exposure through each GEAR Project assembly and presentation. The ability to be hands on with GEAR Project participants creates an attractive platform for brand and product exposure.

The GEAR Project extends brand exposure to additional motorsports channels, such as NHRA, Motocross, Formula 1, EMLS, and other series, having a global presence in each organization, and additional female drivers in each organization who serve as GEAR Project Ambassadors.

The GEAR Project is also aligned with Girl Scouts of America and FIA’s Women In Motorsport.
