Grassroot 2018,

About the event

Local companies and privates can support Grassroot 2018 project to have big visibility among kids and families around Lahti, Hollola, Heinola, Ahtiala, Renkomaki and Pajulahti. We will have 7 locations with 2 training sessions per week, for a total of 5 weeks. After this, a Tournament will all the participants will be organized in ISKU Areena in Lahti, with presence of all organizers, teachers, kids with families, sponsors and Pelicans Hockey players. Total amout of kids taking part to the Project is estimated in 200+ with parents/family coming along during sessions and final Tournament.

Kids will first learn how to skate and our Hockey coaches will prepare weekly training plans for every age group and abilities. We are 29 organizing students, including 2 Erasmus Students from Spain and 7 LOT students of Haaga-Helia University. The remaining 20 students are part of Degree Programme 16 in Sports Coaching and Management of Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, Vierumaki Campus.

We are divided in 7 groups that are Management, Marketing, Equipment, Budget, Coaching, Organization, Tournament. Our main goal is to teach sports to kids as crucial part of their social and physical life with enphasis on Ice Hockey; we want the kids to have fun and the parents to see progression in their kids learning, making new friends and new experiences; we are working hard to make this to be the best Grassroot Project the University has ever had.

We have an Official Website, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and Snapchat profiles and we will promote the event also on Local Newspaper, Radio, TV and of course in all schools of this area with Flyers, Stickers and Posters.

Your company will gain big visibility and will help us to cover our travelling expenses to move from our Campus in Vierumaki every session; it will also cover the ice-times booking fees, ISKU Areena booking and goods/equipment expenses for the sessions and final tournament; it will partially cover our clothing expenses as well.

As said, we will produce our personal Degreee Programme jacket, hat and hoodie that will be worn by us students during the next three years of studies in Vierumaki Campus (500+ Finnish students and 50+ International Students) and during our coaching projects in the Lahti-Hollola-Heinola area.
