Collegiate Leaders in the Fight for Freedom,

Washington, District of Columbia, United States Washington, District of Columbia, United States

  • About the event

AU Students Against Human Trafficking is a student group that raises awareness about domestic trafficking among college students while facilitating the work of anti-trafficking organizations in D.C. through Advocacy, Community Engagement and Education.

We are honored to host the Second Annual Collegiate Leaders in the Fight for Freedom Convention at American University in Washington, D.C on April 28th 2018.

The convention hopes to equip and connect emerging leaders in the fight against modern slavery. We recognize the multifaceted nature of human trafficking and hope to leverage diverse collegiate and professional networks to develop innovate and intersectional approaches to the anti-salvery movement.

    Why should you sponsor?

The Collegiate Leaders in the Fight for Freedom brings together student leaders, professionals and survivors of human trafficking together to create cutting edge and intersectional solutions to the problem of human trafficking.

The convention hopes to equip and connect emerging leaders in the fight against modern slavery. We recognize the multifaceted nature of human trafficking and hope to leverage diverse collegiate and professional networks to develop innovate and intersectional approaches to the anti-salvery movement.

This convention is an investment of human rights experts, international and domestic organizations, and government officials in the human rights leaders of the future. Students working together to fight human trafficking under the guidance of the facilitators of the convention will:

    1. Maximize the efficacy of their work and effort

    2. Provide a system of support for existing organizations and experts, and human rights leaders

    3. Gain the skills and training necessary for a lifetime of human rights work.

We want to see each one attending seeing their work as existing within a framework of overlapping and concentric circles, this complex web of vicious vectors that underlie modern slavery. Every student coming to our convention can hope to have skills developed and ideas shared through the course of the day.

We are running on a very low budget and have been faced with an additional burden of paying a price for the location of the event.

As a sponsor to our event, you will be an intergral part of this movement.
